Toronto Raptors rookie Terence Davis arrested in New York City

Toronto Raptors guard Terence Davis - one of the best rookies in the National Basketball Association last season - was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly socked his ex-GF in the face multiple times.

The New York Post first reported that Davis had been arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman at a luxury high-rise early Wednesday morning, and the Toronto Star later confirmed that the woman was in fact his girlfriend.

The incident happened shortly before 10 an apartment building on the East Side of Manhattan, police said. Moroney says that the victim alleges that the accused then hit her in the face before grabbing and breaking her phone.

We're told police were eventually called to the scene. where they arrested the 23-year-old National Basketball Association player, booking him on misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor criminal mischief charges.

Prior to joining the Raptors as an undrafted free agent a year ago, Davis played collegiately at Ole Miss.

He averaged 7.5 points per game, and ranked fifth among rookies in three-point shooting percentage. He was named to the league's All-Rookie Second Team.
