During an appearance on Do NYC's "Voting Power Hour", the 28-year-old pop star was asked by a volunteer about her first time voting, to which she replied, "Honestly, I'm not ashamed to say this, but I kind of - this [2020 election] was my first time".

Selena Gomez has been politically-active this election season, encouraging her followers to vote in the upcoming 2020 United States presidential polls. But some fans are wary of her recent dedication after hearing what she had to say in response to a young voter from MI named Sam, who asked Gomez about her first voting experience. She explained that she never thought he vote really counted before, saying, "I'm going to say that, because I've never felt - and this is so true, and I'm now admitting it to people - like my vote counts".

While she didn't reveal which candidate she voted for, Gomez did share a few pics of her voting experience on Instagram last week. Alongside a series of pictures of herself pinning an "I Voted" badge and one showing her filling her papers, the singer wrote: "Just finished filling out my ballot!". She captioned her article.

"Honestly, I'm not ashamed to say this", she said on Voting Power Hour.

"I want to continue knowing that just because of who I am, and just because of the hard work I do, I hope that it just inspires so many people to continue to believe in their dreams, believe that they're capable, that they can - no matter what", Gomez said. "And once I actually, actually begun going into and diving to this, it has been all I could concentrate on". As a single Twitter consumer shared,"she was honest with her viewers". She coulda easily whined and nobody would have known.

The "Disney" alum hasn't revealed whom she voted for in the polls but previously confessed that she is not rooting for the US President Donald Trump's re-election. "That is FIVE occasions that she did not believe voting was significant enough to allow her to take action". That stinks. I like the woman. "However, it's clear that folks feel hurt".
