LG Velvet and Wing Launched in India, Velvet Starts at Rs 36,990

LG Velvet price starts at Rs 36,990 in India. So essentially, the primary display swivels 90-degree to reveal a smaller, secondary display underneath. The LG Wing will go on sale from November 9, 2020 and will be available across different online platforms and retails stores across India.

There are several advantages to this design and more so, the Wing opens up a whole new way to run apps. The Wing has three cameras on the back, consisting of a 64MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP "gimbal" camera. Vivo X50 Pro is another smartphone that uses the same gimbal stabilisation system, meaning your still images will be steadier than ever. The LG Velvet supports 4G connectivity while the LG Wing can support 5G connectivity. It also comes with an IP68-rated build that is MIL-STD-810G certified. It offers full HD+ resolution and a high aspect ratio of 20.5:9. The Dual Screen brings an additiona 6.8-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2.460 pixels) Cinema FullVision POLED display with 20.5:9 aspect ratio on board. It is powered by a Snapdragon 765G processor and is 5G-enabled. The phone houses a 4,300mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging through USB-C.

The device is fitted with a pop-up camera of 32-megapixel for capturing selfie shots. Camera features include Steady Cam and ASMR recording. There's another 13-megapixel ultrawide camera present here.

With the swiveling mode, the LG Wing can do special camera tricks. The gimbal mode displays the feed on the main screen while a virtual joystick on the secondary screen is available for operation.

LG launched the Wing, its one-of-its-kind swivel screen smartphone in India on Wednesday. The LG Velvet measures 167.2x74.1x7.9mm and weighs 180 grams. With the Dual Screen accessory, the device carries a price tag of Rs 49,990 (~$677). Both versions of the Velvet will go on sale starting October 30. Both the devices feature a 6.8-inch screen but there is a difference in the quality of display between the two. LG says that users can view and simultaneously work on multiple apps while also chatting with friends, playing mobile games, watching sports, posting pictures, shopping, and more. The phone offers 128 GB of native storage and it has a shared SIM slot for using a microSD card. The LG Velvet packs in a 4300mAh battery which can support fast-charging. This is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 5-megapixel depth camera. Up front, there's a 16-megapixel camera for selfies.
