The beauty mogul turned 40 on October 21 and celebrated with a private island getaway, surprising her family and closes friends with an invitation to come along.

The reality star is facing criticism for hosting a lavish party overseas, without social distancing or masks, in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The reality TV star shared photos of her private bash on Twitter recently and stated that she surprised her "inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time".

"Before COVID, I don't think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment".

Kardashian said her guests had been asked to quarantine for two weeks before departure, and had undergone multiple "health screens". Kardashian acknowledged the coronavirus pandemic and how "privileged" she is when such a vacation is "so far out of reach" for most people. Frampton wrote. "People are going to food banks not private islands". The mother of four took to social media on Monday to show off her impressive physique in a skimpy thong two-piece, which she accessorized with large shades and a bandana wrapped around her head. The family recreated all of Kim's special birthdays, showcasing scenes from her first birthday, second birthday, then fourth birthday, as well as her 10th birthday party, where her sisters did a special dance they did for her 30 years ago! "But neat trip to post all over social media while the world suffers".

Despite Kardashian's acknowledgment of her privilege, Twitter users were less than impressed at the celebrity's choice to promote her birthday celebration on social media as people face homelessness, unemployment and the death of loved ones as the pandemic continues.
