US Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden holds a commanding 17 per cent lead over President Donald Trump in Wisconsin in a new poll of the key battleground state, released less than a week before Election Day.

The Post adds some context, reporting, "When it comes to handling the pandemic, Biden is trusted more than Trump by double digits in both states, and large majorities support their state's rules on masks and restrictions on businesses and public gatherings". President Donald Trump won MI by a narrow margin after they left office, becoming the first Republican presidential candidate to win the state since 1988.

Trump scheduled two rallies in MI this month, one in Lansing on Tuesday and another in Oakland County on Friday.

The poll also stated that among likely voters who have already voted, 64% of them have voted for Biden, 25% for Trump and 2% for Jorgensen.

Biden holds a comfortable lead in national polls, which also show a public increasingly dismayed by Trump's handling of the largest public health crisis in USA living memory.

The number of people who have voted early represents more than 53% of the total turnout in the 2016 election, according to data compiled by the U.S. Elections Project at the University of Florida.

This is the last Marquette Law Poll before the election on November 3.
