And boy, does it look epic. Well, maybe not filled with magical creatures, seeing as there's apparently only one last dragon, but that's a problem Raya is aiming to fix. The trailer shows Raya (Kelly Marie Tran) exploring a booby-trapped tomb straight out of Indiana Jones, but instead of a giant rolling boulder at the end she finds a guy in a mask she has to fight. It definitely feels like a different sort of Disney animated feature.

"Raya and the Last Dragon's" fantasy setting is called Kumandra, and reportedly blends elements from cultures of the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, and Myanmar. However, over the past centuries, dragons have been sacrificing themselves to save humanity from an evil force that threatens their lives.

Tran's voice-over tells us that Raya is a "guardian of the Dragon Gem", and must track down the last dragon - Sisu, voiced by Shang-Chi actress Awkwafina - to unite her people and restore peace to the land.

However, along her journey, Raya will learn that it'll take more than a dragon to save the world - it's going to take trust and teamwork as well.

Raya and the Last Dragon will be led by Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), who will be the first Southeast Asian to lead a Disney animated film. There's no sign of Sho Nuff or Bruce Leeroy, but I'll accept it. Raya and the Last Dragon is now scheduled for a March release in the United States of A, but we'll see if that date gets shuffled around in the weeks and months to come.
