In a rare moment of (semi)-seriousness, the Jewish comedian on Wednesday endorsed Joe Biden for U.S. president and laced into Donald Trump's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm excited to vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this election, and now I'm excited to know that it would make Mel Brooks proud. "Because of this coronavirus", Brooks said. "So many people have died. And when you're dead, you can't do much".

Brooks, 94, is voting for former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democratic nominee.

"Why do I like Joe?"

"Joe likes facts", he explains.

And it is inspiring to see someone like Mel Brooks (who never made a political video, as Max points out) look around and realize that he has to say something about the current political climate.

"Take a tip from me, vote for Joe". Max and his son also appear in the video, standing behind a glass door because they can't be with Brooks on account of COVID-19. Because Joe likes science. "OK, that's all I got to say", he concludes as he waves off his entourage and claims he has to go fill out his ballot. Asked how he's coping, Brooks replied: "I am not watching the news, I am telling everybody, 'Watch old black-and-white movies'".

The celebrity political endorsements are racking up for Biden, with Taylor Swift, Hailey Bieber and Diddy among the stars endorsing him for president. Meanwhile, the president can count on Kirstie Alley and 50 Cent's votes. If you have questions, please reference the CDC's and WHO's resource guides.
