'Out of context': Melania Trump writes scathing essay slamming ex-friend

The First lady Melania Trump has penned a "heartfelt" letter on the White House's official website asking the nation and the media to concentrate on more important things rather than books penned on her.

In one of the much-discussed clips Wolkoff has released, the first lady complains about having to decorate the Christmas tree at the White House, and in another she rallies against the porn actress Stormy Daniels, who claims that she has had a relationship with the current U.S. president.

"Typically, they ignore any scandalous reporting about themselves or make some brief, non-contentious statement", Jellison said in an email. While Trump claims that Winston Wolkoff was merely a "contractor" who worked in the East Wing, the author of the bombshell tell-all paints a much different picture about a 15-year friendship beginning when the First Lady was still a model named Melania Knauss.

- This is a woman who secretly recorded our phone conversations, shared parts of it without context, and then wrote a book with rumors to distort me, the first lady continues.

In other recordings, she downplays the conditions in which migrant children separated from their parents were housed in United States detention centres at the Mexico border, and refers to Stormy Daniels as the "porn hooker".

(She also, mind you, ponders, "Who gives a fuck about Christmas?") But the news cycle moves fast in a presidential election; hours after the tapes were released, it emerged that the president and first lady were diagnosed with COVID-19.

In the memoir, Winston Wolkoff claims that Melania Trump has an icy relationship with the president's oldest daughter, Ivanka, and even went so far as plotting with Winston Wolkoff to ensure that Ivanka Trump did not appear in photos of her father's swearing in.

"Never once looking within at her own dishonest behaviour and all in an attempt to be relevant. These kinds of people only care about their personal agenda-not about helping others", Melania said.

Melania Trump health update: How is the FLOTUS doing after contracting coronavirus? A person who said she "made me" even though she hardly knew me, and someone who clung to me after my husband won the Presidency.

The first lady's friend left the White House in 2018 after reports claimed that her company had been paid nearly $26 million for her work on Trump's inauguration.

The government claims Wolkoff "promised to maintain strict confidentiality over "nonpublic, privileged and/or confidential information" when she volunteered to serve as an adviser to the first lady in 2017. Her book chronicled a yearslong relationship with the first lady and their regular lunches in New York City and emoji-filled text exchanges.

She then returned to berating the media's coverage of the book and the secret recordings: "Once again, outlets chose to focus their coverage on pettiness over my positive work".

"As a country, we can not continue to get lost in the noise of negativity and encourage ambition by those who seek only to promote themselves", she wrote.

"To push forward a personal agenda that attempts to defame my office and the efforts of my team, only takes away from our work to help children", she wrote.
