The insect landed on the vice president's head during the latter half of Wednesday's debate and remained there for almost two minutes, setting off a flurry of memes, jokes, and other reactions across social media. The little bugger - which took refuge on Pence's hair for a full two minutes and quickly triggered dozens of Twitter parody accounts - is available as a "Debate Fly Wig" combo with a gray hairpiece for $49.95 from the site 3Wishes.

"I didn't know he was there", Pence told Fox Information host Dana Perino in a Columbus Day interview from Ohio. I got a law school grad who is going to get married next year.

"It was a good laugh for all of us", he added. "The illegal spying is really out of control".

Last week, Saturday Night Live returned to the airwaves by lampooning the first presidential debate.

"We watched that the net and our fans sharing a viral instant on the internet, therefore our electronic team arrived on the fly to demonstrate that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will constantly pick truth over liesscience fiction, and unity over division", Zach McNamara, the Biden effort's product manager, said in an announcement.

In addition to having Carrey's Biden morph into a fly, the sketch parodied the movie further by making him act like the film's star, Jeff Goldblum.

Later in the sketch, a second fly landed on the vice president's head and Kenan Thompson appeared as a reincarnated Herman Cain, the former Republican presidential candidate who died in July, a month after being diagnosed with coronavirus.

"Though the effort's fly swatters sold outside, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals", also called PETA, made a supply to the effort and delivered among its humanist insect catchers into Biden.
