'Home Improvement' actor Zachery Ty Bryan is arrested, faces assault charge

Former Home Improvement star Zachery Ty Bryan has been arrested on charges of choking his girlfriend during a fight.

The Eugene Police Department told the AP that Bryan is accused of assaulting his 27-year-old girlfriend by obstructing her breathing and grabbing her phone to keep her from calling 911.

It was revealed further that Bryan was found by officers "sitting outside an apartment".

The victim declined medical care, authorities said.

The actor grinned for his mugshot that has been obtained by TMZ.

The actor faces a felony charge of strangulation and two additional misdemeanor charges, assault in the 4th degree and interfering with making a report. He has not yet entered a plea.

Zachery Ty Bryan was arrested Saturday for allegedly strangling his girlfriend.

Home Improvement ran for eight seasons from 1991 to 1999 with a total of 204 episodes after it finished. He also had roles in "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift", "First Kid", and "The Rage: Carrie 2", plus appeared on other TV shows like "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", "Boston Public", "Smallville", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", and "Veronica Mars". It's been almost a decade since he appeared in a TV show or movie.
