Aamir Khans praise for Akshay Kumar ruffles the feathers of Bollywood fans

"Laxmmi Bomb" is the Hindi remake of Tamil film "Kanchana".

The remake of the 2011 Tamil horror comedy features Akshay Kumar as a transgender person. Akshay plays a character named Asif in the film and the heroine of the film Kiara Advani plays a girl named Priya. Kanchana means "gold" which is a form of Lakshmi.

Lawrence revealed that he chose to change the name of the Hindi version, starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani, because collectively the team decided that the name should appeal to the Hindi audience as well so it was renamed as Laxmmi. And since the film was turning out to be "a cracker of a film", it was finally named Laxmmi Bomb. Like a dhamaka of Laxmmi Bomb can not be missed.

In what one can perceive of the film's storyline from the trailer is that the lead actor is captured by the spirit of a transgender, who is on a mission. "Hence the name fits perfectly", he told the news portal.

He said, "after "Kanchana" released in Tamil, the movie received huge appreciation from transgenders". Raghava believes that with Akshay Kumar playing the role, the message will reach to a wider audience.

In the upcoming flick, which is a "circus of family and ghosts", while Akshay will be seen playing the role of a transgender, Kiara Advani will be seen in a pivotal role. "Laxmmi Bomb" is slated to release around Diwali on OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar. To which he responded saying, "I run a trust and a few transgenders approached my trust for help". When he heard their story, he thought of chronicling it for the big screen.

"I wanted to tell their story to everyone, first through the character of "Kanchana" and now with Laxmmi in this movie". Others talked about how the word Laxmmi was being misused in the film. "However, fans seemed reluctant towards accepting Akki's 'Laxmmi Bomb" trailer.
