New Arsenal signing Thomas Partey is determined to make the fans happy.

The Ghanaian, who is believed to be earning around £250,000-a-week at the Emirates, completed his £45million move to Arsenal at the 11th-hour on deadline day earlier this month after Mikel Arteta chased him throughout the summer.

Partey spent eight years at Atletico Madrid having joined them as a teenager in 2012.

"I keep thinking Lucas' exit was very important", Simeone told reporters on Friday. 'Thomas is a boy I remember from when he played in the B team with Saul [Niguez]. There was no debate the day we let him leave, but in a year, Wesley would have cost a lot more, because a lot of big clubs had programmed his arrival at that time.

"He needs that year of transition and we are trying to make the right decisions for him to give him the best transitional year to have the player we want in our future".

Jordan was Crystal Palace's Player of the Year last season, whilst his brother has played for West Ham United in the Premier League before and last season he missed out on promotion with Swansea in the Championship play-offs.

Simeone's men, meanwhile, have made an indifferent start to the new campaign.

Simeone has hinted he could start Luis Suarez, Diego Costa and Joao Felix together in a bid to get his side's attack firing again and says Portuguese forward Felix must endeavour to bring his global form to club level.

He's there now, and if he does become the player Puel thinks he will, then it's the Foxes who will be laughing their way to the bank if they ever decide to sell him. Numerous players we have can play together. "He [Felix] is a very important player for us". I saw the games he played with the national team and I liked his work.

"He is talented and can perform anytime, but what I saw with Portugal, where he showed commitment, intent and enthusiasm for what the team needed - that speaks volumes about him and that is what we need from him too".
