Although the Spring 2021 opening window for Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan is still a bit far off, that doesn't mean that the park is just waiting in the wings!

The Mario Cafe & Store is unveiled at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka on Thursday.

While the Mario Cafe and Store officially opens on October 16, a celebration happened today and guests were able to enjoy a soft-opening afterwards. The drinks menu includes sodas themed around Mario, Luigi and Peach, with moustaches or a crown attached to the straw for Instagram photo tomfoolery.

The store is packed with dozens and dozens of exclusive merchandise items themed around the three characters - everything from clothing to jewelry to water bottles to souvenir snacks.

The launch of the cafe coincides with the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., and comes ahead of the opening next spring of the Super Nintendo World attraction in the amusement park.
