With the win, the Red Wolves have improved to 6-1 all-time against the Panthers. Arkansas State, meanwhile, is 4-1 against the number in its last five games overall, is 4-1 against the spread in its last five home games and has cashed in six of its last eight games coming off a loss.

ASU (3-2, 1-1 Sun Belt) and Georgia State (1-2, 0-2) put on an offensive clinic, combining for 1,192 total yards and 59 first downs. All of which suggests the near-upset of Sun Belt favorite UL-Lafayette in the conference opener September 19 might not have been a fluke.

The Wolves used big-yardage plays to set up scores in their 20-point third quarter with Bonner throwing for two scores and Hatcher one to lead 43-13. He had four touchdown passes.

Georgia State wound up with 485 total yards as Destin Coates rushed for 113 yards and two scores on 23 carries.

Georgia State and Arkansas State will both be seeking their first win in Sun Belt Conference play this season when they meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 15 from Centennial Bank Stadium in Jonesboro, Ark. He had three touchdown passes. Pinckney, a sophomore, had seven receptions for a career-high 134 yards. Hatcher's three touchdowns versus Central Arkansas were the same amount as he had thrown in the previous three games combined.

Hatcher saw most of the action at quarterback for Arkansas State and completed 21 of 32 passes for 299 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions. After a Georgia State punt, Hatcher threw his third touchdown, this one to freshman running back Lincoln Pare.

Arkansas State also got a big defensive play when cornerback Samy Johnson returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown. Georgia State tied the game at 42-42 before a 39-yard field goal by junior kicker Blake Grupe gave Arkansas State a 45-42 lead heading into the final quarter. But any such concerns seem to be alleviated after the first two games thanks to redshirt frosh QB Cornelious Brown IV, who has been borderline electric when piloting the Panthers' spread-option. "Just look the ball in and score the touchdown, I guess".

Brown was also intercepted twice as he completed 18 of 28 attempts for 238 yards.

Blake Carroll also had a 74-yard fumble return for a touchdown.
