Action packed racing and supernatural horror are in store for Playstation gamers as Sony has announced that Need for Speed: Payback and Vampyr are the PS+ titles for October. For those who played any previous titles in the series, Need for Speed: Payback offers more of the same experiences. Another strong offering after this past month's, and if anything it shows that PS Plus offerings aren't slowing down despite the pending release of the PlayStation 5.

Vampyr is the first title of this kind developed by Dontnod Entertainment, the studio behind the Life is unusual franchise.

October is nearly here (or already here depending on where you are in the space-time continuum), and that means it's time for a new round of PS Plus games.

Reid is a doctor who has been turned into a vampire and now focuses on drinking his patients' blood to replenish health and unlock new abilities and features.

These games will be available for free starting October 6 for PlayStation Plus subscribers. A tricky situation, as you can either help save the people you're meant to care for in early 20th century London or feast on them. The game has a semi-open world where you'll face bosses and make choices that will significantly impact the game's ending. As you might expect, it's a racing game where you go through various challenges as three different characters.

Need to renew your PlayStation Plus subscription? Don't forget to get September's games now while you can.
