Taylor Swift's neighbors were shocked by a shootout that took place outside a townhouse owned by the country-turned-pop superstar in New York's Tribeca neighborhood. On Sunday, September 27, bullets were reportedly flying during an attempted robbery at a nearby shop.

Armed men had broken into a local sneaker store called Patron of NY at 151 Franklin Street, near Swift's ritzy Tribeca townhouse in the upscale neighbourhood.

Four shots were fired near Swift's residence in the Tribeca neighborhood at around 5 p.m., local time, as three suspects fled the scene, according to NY police.

A waiter at the nearby Tamarind Tribeca restaurant on Hudson streets said that he heard 4 shots on the robbers and went out and he saw the robbers and want out and he saw the robbers ran away from the place and they were so scared and jumped into a auto.

Police said that no injuries were reported in the shooting.

"It's really concerning to see two gun-related crimes happen at the same place within a month", the person said. Local residents said that this is the second shooting incident to take place in the area this month.

Detectives also mention that two of the robbers were wearing blue jeans and white T-shirts, and another one wearing blue jeans with blue T-shirts. "They looked scared and jumped into a auto".

"It's a family neighbourhood, and I choose safety over access to fancy sneakers every time".

It's now unknown if Taylor was at her home at 153 Franklin Street during the shootout.

As well as the townhouse, Taylor also owns three apartments next door - making her the owner of $50 million worth of properties in the neighbourhood. Because the star has residential or commercial properties in several cities throughout the US, she's often been the victim of stalking. It's uncertain if Swift remained in the home at the time.
