Manchester City are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Benfica centre-back Ruben Dias. After the match, he said: "I am very happy". It was a very important game for me and to be able to consecrate the game with a goal, it was very special for me.

Having explored the option of signing Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and Jules Kounde of Sevilla, widespread reports in Portugal say City are on the verge of snapping up the Portugal worldwide for a fee between €60 million and €65 million.

They back it up, and add that Manchester City will be paying an extra amount of between €60m and €65m for the Portuguese defender.

The Portuguese side confirmed the news on their official website on Sunday, shortly before announcing a £14m (€15m/$17m) deal is in place for Otamendi.

Starting with new signing Nathan Ake and the inexperienced Eric Garcia at centre-half, City were carved open repeatedly by a Foxes side who only had 29 per cent of possession during the 90 minutes. "Of course, we like him".

Manager Pep Guardiola has wanted a right-sided central defender since Vincent Kompany retired last summer.
