100 years ago, a group of courageous heroes rose to become legendary Champions.

After Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was announced, I wrote a piece on how the current strategy of making a trilogy with a current Zelda story was a refreshing take on the series. Did it show enough new details?

Hyrule Warriors was then one of the first Wii U games to be given a fresh release on Nintendo Switch, the newer console able to handle the big battles much better, combining the merits of the Wii U game with some of the additions made for the 3DS version.

And as seen in this new story trailer, this Breath of the Wild prequel is looking gorgeous.

Players who have a Breath of the Wild save on the same Nintendo Switch where they play Age of Calamity will get a special bonus wooden "Training Sword" for Link. It was also revealed that the Impa, from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, will be a playable character. "Roll up your blue tunic sleeves and get ready for a dramatic and surprising adventure through Hyrulean history this holiday season". You can play using Link, Zelda, and other familiar characters from the Zelda universe. Gamers know that Ganon changed the foundation of Hyrule 100 years before Link awakens in Breath of the Wild.

Additional affirmation of Impa as a playable character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity comes from the gameplay video that Nintendo rolled out on the Tokyo Recreation Present 2020. Numerous most popular and fan-favorite characters from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are playable, including Link and Zelda.

Besides action, environmental puzzles will be there to solve across Hyrule.
