The pandemic has impacted the sales of premium phones and Samsung's decision to give OIS capabilities to the Galaxy A72 seemingly has something to do with this. This means that Galaxy A72 will not be the only smartphone that could feature five cameras at the back, and Samsung might introduce more new devices with beefed-up camera specifications.

The report further highlights that the company is also planning to increase the camera modules in every Galaxy device in the coming year. In addition, the device will also reportedly feature a 12MP ultra wide-angle lens, an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom, a 5MP "bokeh" lens, and a 5MP macro lens. There will be a 32MP selfie shooter on the front. In comparison, the Galaxy A71 lacks the telephoto lens, and has a depth sensor in place of the portrait lens.

Most budget and mid-range phones don't usually have the most impressive camera setups, but Samsung is looking to change that - at least in the Indian market. With that timeline in mind, it stands to reason that the Galaxy A72 will likely be released over the next few months, and initial details of the phone have now surfaced. If all goes according to plan with the rumored Galaxy A72, don't be surprised to see Samsung introduce a penta-camera setup with a major flagship - something we've actually seen already from other OEMs, including Huawei, HMD Global, and Xiaomi.
