Apple now sells through third-party retailers in India including Amazon, and the country is seen as a huge potential market for the firm due to its giant 1.3-billion population and relatively low number of smartphone owners.

"We're proud to be expanding in India and want to do all we can to support our customers and their communities", said Deirdre O'Brien, Apple's senior vice president of Retail + People. Apart from this, there will be the much-awaited trade-in program, under which customers can get their products exchanged for new ones.

Apple today announced that it will launch its online store in India on September 23 to offer products and support directly to the customers for the first time in the country.

With Apple Store online, customers will get assistance from Apple Specialists, who will help them choose the right products and set them up.

As COVID-19 presents enormous challenges and uncertainties for communities across the country, Apple's teams are supporting local organizations to provide remote learning with study guides and curricula, the release added. There will also be other benefits in addition to it being a convenient destination to shop for Apple products in time of COVID-19. Now, that hassle is finally ending as the official Apple Store goes online in India next week. With the next week's launch, the American company will prepare for the festival sales period in the country.

Specialists credit this growth to solid sales of the 2020 version of the iPhone SE and supply chain problems faced by opponents such as OnePlus. IDC Research Director Navkendar Singh said that the current contribution of e-commerce to Indian electronic product sales reaches 42% to 45% each year. The company has assured that it will offer the same "premium experience" online as it did in its brick-and-mortar stores. These online sessions will led by local Creative Pros.

You can check out the Apple Store (India) here. However, Apple is known for its shopping experience, Singh asserted. The online Apple Store will also be offering financing options as well as trade-in program, and will also be able to avail exclusive discounts on Apple products and services. For the approaching festive season, the customers will also get signature gift wrap and personalized engraving for selected pieces. Customers can get advice, receive guidance and learn about new products directly from Apple, both in English and Hindi, the company said.

Apple has been actively striving to gain a position in the Indian market.

Moreover, according to the Bloomberg report, Apple will also be opening physical retail locations, starting next year in Mumbai, before opening a second outlet in Bengaluru. The US-based company, in collaboration with partners like Wistron and Foxconn, recently started assembling iPhone 11 in India.
