Monroe County reports second highest daily COVID-19 case increase

The Wyoming Department of Health reports the state has had 3,762 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 46 deaths in the state resulting from COVID-19.

There have been no new COVID-19 related deaths, for a total of 219 deaths in British Columbia. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of September 8 was 95.3%. The remaining three outbreaks are located at acute-care facilities. Currently, 34% of medical/surgical beds are available and 48% of ICU beds.

There are now 1,590 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, including 63 people who are in hospital for treatment, 20 of whom require intensive care.

By town, Wheaton has had 685 total cases, Glen Ellyn 509, Lombard 776, Villa Park 467, Hinsdale 333, Westmont 541, Downers Grove 621, Elmhurst 772, Warrenville 237 and Winfield 146.

While no one else has died from the coronavirus since Monday's briefing, when officials announced there had been six fatalities over the weekend, hospitalizations did surge once again. This additional information replaces the information that was previously provided daily in this format.

Officials also announced another health-care facility outbreak, at Opal by Element in Vancouver. There are now 14 active outbreaks in long-term care homes, assisted living facilities and acute care units.
