CBS All Access rebranding to 'Paramount+' in early 2021

The rebranded service will include episodes and movies from ViacomCBS-owned BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures, including original series such as "The Twilight Zone" and "The Good Fight". The name, borrowing from the major film studio, uses the same "Plus"-style convention as others, including Disney+ and Apple TV ".

Coupled with a surge in content, ViacomCBS is rebranding its CBS All Access service in early 2021, renaming it "Paramount+" in time for an global launch of the service. Following the addition of the new content, including over 3,500 episodes of TV from across ViacomCBS' brands, CBS All Access broke its records for total monthly streams in August and saw one of its best-ever months for new subscribers.

Paramount+ will debut with new original content, including the scripted limited event series, "The Offer", based on Al Ruddy's experiences making "The Godfather". But with its newly announced slate of original titles, Paramount+ may have an offer we can't refuse.

Lioness: Based on a real-life Central Intelligence Agency program, follows a young Marine recruited to befriend the daughter of a terrorist to bring the organization down from within. There's also a reboot of the classic VH1 docuseries Behind the Music titled MTV's Behind the Music - The Top 40 that "will unlock MTV's vault from the past 40 years for a unique and intimate look at the 40 biggest artists of all time, through their voices and their eyes".

The re-branding occurs as ViacomCBS prepares to bring the streaming service to Australia, Latin America, and the Nordic countries early next year. The last two are The Real Criminal Minds, a true-crime series based on the long-running CBS drama, and a revival of the hit BET drama The Game which was reportedly in the works at The CW previous year. The regions are part of an initial expansion, with further regions expected to launch soon after.

Josh Line, chief brand officer, ViacomCBS, said: "The Paramount brand is known and loved all around the world, and is synonymous with great entertainment".
