Redmi 9i vs Realme C12: Which is a better entry-level phone?

Redmi 9i has joined the long Redmi 9 series devices in India.

Xiaomi has yet another Redmi smartphone that it will be launching today in India. It is an entry-level phone. Redmi 9 Prime is available via Mi.com and Amazon India.

The smartphone features a 6.53-inch HD+ LCD display with 20:9 aspect ratio, 400nits brightness, and TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification.

Redmi 9i has a single 13MP rear camera with 1080p 30fps video recording in addition to a 5-megapixel front camera.

Realme C12 runs on MediaTek Helio G35 chipset with up to 2.3 GHz octa-core processor whereas Redmi 9i runs on MediaTek Helio G25 chipset with 2.0 GHz octa-core Cortex A53 processor. It is based on the 12nm process.

Redmi 9i chip pairs to a minimum of 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage depending on the variants, 64 GB and 128GB.

The second biggest highlight of the phone is its massive battery.

It is a phone which we have seen before. Redmi could have just announced it as a Redmi 9A with more memory. However, the change that Redmi 9i has is the increase in RAM and internal storage. To compare, the Redmi 9A comes with 2GB RAM/32GB storage and 3GB RAM/32 Gb storage. Xiaomi has confirmed some Redmi 9i specifications like a 4GB RAM variant, a water-drop notch display, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and support for a microSD storage card. The top model is priced at Rs 11,999 with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
