"I send my deepest condolences to the families and friends who are grieving the loss of a loved one due to COVID-19", said Barbara Ferrer, director of public health. However, there continue to be community exposure events at other locations and on flights into and out of the province.

Monday's numbers brought countywide totals to 4,262 confirmed cases, 117 related deaths and two probable deaths.

Despite the improving figures, officials said the virus remains widespread in the county and have confirmed a total of at least 253,985 positive cases and 6,208 deaths.

The county also reported that an additional 223 people recovered from the coronavirus, raising that total to 18,662.

Of those cases, 1,461 were considered active as of Friday, including 49 people who were in hospital for treatment, 10 of whom required intensive care.

Among McHenry County ZIP codes, Woodstock (60098) has seen the highest number of COVID-19 cases with a total of 642 confirmed cases, according to county data.
