The UCF football team hasn't played a single down yet this season, but the Knights already find themselves climbing up the latest top 25 rankings.

The Tide still rank behind Clemson, which received 37 first-place votes.

Much of the movement can be attributed to both polls eliminating teams from the conferences not now playing football this fall, including the Big Ten and Pac-12.

With those teams gone, Alabama moved up to No. 2. Alabama received only one first-place vote.

The Amway Coaches Poll came out with its first updated since the 2020 season began and UCF moved up from 21st to 13th, released Sunday afternoon.

Unlike last month's preseason polls, which included all teams regardless of whether they are playing this fall or not, the latest polls only considered teams playing this fall.

Iowa State went from 23rd to unranked after a loss to Louisiana. That same Arkansas State then turned around and upset Kansas State on the road Saturday. Now Virginia Tech is dealing with coronavirus issues of its own and its game next week against Virginia has been postponed. With the Panthers up 42-0 at halftime, the teams agreed to play 10-minute quarters in the second half.
