There's nothing unusual about a little timed exclusivity these days - but Total War Saga: TROY has a little something extra up its sleeve. For the first 24 hours of its release, starting on August 13th (today!) at 2pm BST (UK time - please adjust your regional clocks accordingly), everyone can download and keep TROY for free. That's right - Epic threw enough money at Sega and Creative Assembly that a brand new relatively-major game is just being given away on launch day. And, hey, this will give you plenty of time to practice your Total War formations, cavalry charges, and all the other tactics you'll need to not get stomped by the computer or your friends. The EPS description reads: "In this legendary age, heroes walk the Earth".

Fight to save or conquer the kingdom of Troy as one of eight iconic heroes, including the infamous warrior Achilles, noble protector Hector, wayward prince Paris and vengeful king Menelaus. While the latest instalment in the franchise, A Total War Saga: Troy, isn't quite up to their level of detail, strategy, and chaos, there's one incredibly redeeming quality to this game: It's free.

Inspired by The Iliad - Homer's sweeping tale of romance and bloodshed - A Total War Saga: TROY focuses on the historical flashpoint of the Trojan War, bringing the conflict to life as never before. Will you be picking this game up today?

At least, it's free if you hurry up and take advantage of today's offer over at the Epic Games store.

Not much more to say here, really.

Looking at the store page further, some of the top reviewers of games rated it highly across the board, so it should be pretty good, especially considering you get it for free.
