He was discharged from the medical facility on August 10 and put a statement on Tuesday announcing he would be taking a "short break" from professional commitments to focus on medical treatment. Bollywood Actor Sanjay Dutt has been detected with stage four lung cancer and is expected to fly to the U.S for treatment soon.

The Khalnaayak actor further said, "My family and friends are with me and I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate".

In a statement to PTI on Wednesday, Maanayata Dutt thanked people for their well wishes for her husband's speedy recovery. A poster with Sanjay's look in the film was released on the 61-year-old actor's birthday last month.

Dutt was admitted with fluctuating oxygen saturation level and chest discomfort. The most prominent symptoms of lung cancer include cough, blood in the cough and difficulty in breathing. The first doubt of the doctors was that he had contracted coronavirus but his negative report ruled that out.

Just wanted to assure everyone that I'm doing well. After being in the hospital for two days, he got discharged. "Thank you for your well wishes & blessings".

He is now set to star in Mahesh Bhatt's Sadak 2, a sequel to 1991 hit movie Sadak, in which Dutt had also acted.

On the work front, Sanjay is now awaiting the release of "Sadak 2" and "Bhuj: The Pride of India", which will premiere on Disney+Hotstar.
