"Then the person who's supposed to protect her is asking her mom, 'Do you know anybody who [would] want to hurt Breonna Taylor?' when you guys know who killed her!" "And through all that driving, you're crying and scared".

Cardi B whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar has a politician she looks up to. "I want a president who is going to give us answers", she said wistfully. I want a president who understands the pain of the people.

She said: "That is so insane to me".

The 27-year-old said that she chooses Joe Biden over the President.

The interview conducted by Marjon Carlos for Elle is available via thier official web site title The Politics of Being Cardi B. The harrowing account reminded Cardi of when her own cousin was murdered: "I remember everybody waking up at 3 a.m. and driving all the way to New Jersey, to the hospital".

Cardi got candid in a cover story interview with Elle magazine about the pressure she feels to make sure her next project performs well because of how poor her 2019 single "Press" performed on the charts (the song debuted and peaked at #16).

She then went on to rip the current president, saying, "Those people that he caters [to], he's not going to do anything for them". What's the excuse? Why is the cop not in jail? It's a crime! And no apology.

She noted that the three officers who shot Taylor, Brett Hankison, Myles Cosgrove and Jonathan Mattingly, are still walking free and two of them are still working for the police force.

The self-described "regular degular schmegular girl from the Bronx" delved into topics including Trump, Governor Andrew Cuomo (whom she previously endorsed on social media), and of course, her relationship with husband Offset. "Unbelievable." She continued on, saying", A woman like Breonna Taylor, she was young. "She looked like she was your fan", Cardi said.

"If you all are so curious to know about my relationship and blah, blah, blah, I'm going to put it in the fuckin' music, and you can buy it, too", she shared of what to expect on the album, which has been delayed due to the coronavirus.

"There's always rumors about me and my husband, and I feel like people would rather start rumors because they want me to be heartbroken", adds the "WAP" rapper. "You should stick up for her", she told the magazine.
