Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez believes he should be the Gunners' No 1 and admitted he will leave the club if he does not get enough games next season.

According to The Sun, Arsenal may look for a new goalkeeper due to injury to Bernd Leno.

Leno missed much of the Premier League restart, after sustaining a ligament strain following a collision with Brighton striker, Neal Maupay, during the Gunners' defeat 2-1 in June.

The Argentine went on to take in further loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham, Wolves, Getafe and Reading, with opportunities at Emirates Stadium at a premium under Arsene Wenger and his successor Unai Emery.

Emiliano Martinez did well when Leno was injured, and the Argentine goalkeeper also played in the FA Cup final against Chelsea.

Martinez was overcome with emotion after the final whistle, having finally established himself as a key member of the first team after 10 years on the fringes of the action.

While Martinez is set to be rewarded with a new deal, there is uncertainty over Leno's immediate future.

The 28-year-old Germany worldwide is the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal, but he missed the final games of the past season due to knee injury.

He gave an emotional TV interview after helping Arsenal to FA Cup glory against Chelsea at Wembley, but has now told Argentine radio station Continental he is not willing to stay in north London to play second fiddle to Leno, or any other keeper.

"I demonstrated to the club that I can play and also when I return in the next season I need to play more games".

"My target is to consolidate my place with Arsenal and to reach the Argentinian national team as number one".

However, Arsenal legend, Paul Merson backs the move for Willian as he stated that despite the age, football is all about now, and right now, the player is a great one.
