Charli D'Amelio was not far behind, with Forbes estimating she made around R70 million.

With over 54 million followers on TikTok, Rae makes more than the most-followed TikTok star, Charli D'Amelio (nearly 77 million followers), who ranks No. 2 with estimated earnings of $4 million for the same timeframe, Forbes estimated.

Rounding out the top five, Josh Richards - the highest-earning guy on Forbes' list - has capitalised on his TikTok fame, earning $1.5 million past year to June.

In fourth spot on Forbes' list, singer Loren Gray - the former most-followed TikToker - boasts $2.6 million in earnings past year to June.

D'Amelio's first single, Be Happy, was released in June and has since accumulated more than 58 million streams. After three months of posting videos, Easterling hit over one million followers on the app. "I knew I wanted to take it more seriously and expand it to other platforms. I uploaded a video to YouTube and got really active on Instagram". The D'Amelios have formally left the group since.

Both Easterling and D'Amelio have launched their own cosmetics products: Item Beauty (a new makeup line created by Easterling and Madeby Collective) and Morphe 2 (a collaboration between Charli and Dixie D'Amelio aimed at Gen Z).

Addison has also enjoyed multiple sponsorship deals while launching her own branded merchandise.

Even if TikTok ultimately gets banned in the USA, as Donald Trump has threatened, the stars who rose to fame on the platform say they would be able to migrate to other platforms. Their methodology included estimating the Tiktokers' pre-tax earnings from June 30, 2019 through June 30, 2020, as well as conversations with the stars themselves, their teams and investors in the industry. They also claimed to have been in contact with the influencers' agents, managers, and marketers to help improve the accuracy of their report.
