Selena Gomez teams with L.A. chefs for cooking show trailer

That's why she on her new HBO Max series, "Selena + Chef", she enlists the help of top chefs like Antonia Lofaso, Ludo Lefebvre and Roy Choi. In each of the 10 episodes, Gomez will be joined remotely by a professional chef as she attempts various meals, learns invaluable tips and encounters obstacles like missing ingredients, smoking ovens and, in at least one case, undercooked food.

The show was filmed amid the coronavirus pandemic, so in addition to the chefs helping Gomez via video chat, the production had several Covid precautions in place, including remote cameras inside Gomez's home, according to executive producer Aaron Saidman.

"Alright, what are you going to teach me to cook?" "Electric", says the chef, with Gomez replying, "Mine is electric too", as she points to her gas stove. "Oh no, mine's fire".

The streamer on Wednesday unveiled a full-length promo for Selena + Chef, Gomez's unscripted culinary series that will drop Thursday, Aug. 13.

"I've always been very vocal about my love of food".

"I have a very hard time doing that, because as much as I enjoy my position, I just definitely try to keep more of a private life, but this was different for me", she said. "I was actually really excited because I just moved into my home, and that's my new kitchen in the show, so basically I hadn't officially moved in yet". Last month, the 28-year-old actress took to Instagram to tease "so many exciting things" coming up after taking a break.

"I hope you're gonna laugh because I look like a fool", she said. "But despite her many talents, it remains to be seen if cooking is one of them", the network said, in its release at the time.
