The original series, which ran for eight seasons on ABC from 1984 to 1992, starred Danza as former professional baseball player Tony Micelli who moves to CT with his daughter Samantha (Milano) to work as a live-in housekeeper for a divorced advertising executive, played by Judith Light.

"Who's the Boss?" is now the latest classic sitcom to get some kind of reboot or revival treatment.

Aside from the new direction the revival plans to take, there's one thing that will be familiar to Who's the Boss fans: Samantha will be living in the house she grew up in.

The original series created by Martin Cohan and Blake Hunter ran from 1984 to 1992 and was a hit for ABC, if not a critical darling.

Shortly after news broke Tuesday that Sony Pictures Television is developing a revival of the '80s sitcom, with Alyssa Milano and TV dad Tony Danza attached to star, an "excited" Milano confirmed the news on social media, before explaining, "We feel the time is right to tell the story of where these incredible characters are today". "The cast remains very close to this day and the hope is to find creative ways to work them and their characters into the show". It received 10 Emmy nominations and five Golden Globes during its run.

Deadline reports that the sequel is in development at Sony Pictures Television and will take place 30 years after the original series.

Whether the original show's theme song, "Brand New Life", will be heard again wasn't announced.
