The National Weather Service confirmed Monday that a tornado was to blame for the widespread damage in both from Sandisfield to Blandford on Sunday.

Employees from NWS Boston will join those from the NWS Albany in Falls Village section of Canaan in Litchfield County and in Sandisfield in Berkshire County, he said. Trees and utility wires were reported down in the area.

The owners kept their store open while volunteers cleaned up downed trees and fixed the damage to the roof of the building.

After the tornados were deemed to no longer be a risk, the storms continued with the area hit by several severe thunderstorms according to NBC News.

The owners say they don't have greenhouse insurance, so it will cost around $30,000 per greenhouse to replace.

Tornado warnings ended up being triggered in Berkshire County, Hampshire County and western Hampden County in MA along with northwestern Litchfield County in CT.

Isolated hail also could grow to the size of a ping pong ball, the National Weather Service said.
