The Championship playoff has always been considered football's richest game - with the one-off match at Wembley netting the winners an estimated 135 million pounds ($A246m) for returning to the top flight of English football.

The Craven Cottage outfit secured a 2-1 victory over Brentford in the final of the Championship playoffs to return to the top-flight after just a season away.

He posted on Instagram after a tense game at Wembley, which saw Fulham completely nullify Brentford's highly-rated attack in the form of Bryan Mbuemo, Said Benrahma and Ollie Watkins.

Raya was expecting Bryan to whip a cross in but the Englishman went straight for goal and put his side ahead.

2019-20 was Parker's first full season as a manager having been in temporary charge of Fulham in February a year ago before his full appointment three months later.

In the fourth minute of stoppage time Henrik Dalsgaard's header made it 2-1, but nearly immediately the final whistle was blown.

Fulham goal hero Bryan played down his starring role in the triumph. I knew we had that performance in us, all season when we needed to win, we've done it when it mattered.

The 32-year-old center back will rejoin a small group of Americans in the Premier League, most notably Chelsea's Christian Pulisic.

"We've been written off five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10 times, I think I read somewhere we were supposed to be scared of them".

"We have gone from a mid-table club to a team who, in the league table, was the third-best team. It feels special. We got written off a bit this year, no one talked about us, they talked about Brentford and Leeds", he said.
