Province reports five new COVID cases in Lethbridge

Alberta reported 127 new coronavirus cases Friday, adding another day this week with new case numbers well over 100.

The province completed 8,384 COVID-19 tests over the last 24 hours.

The province has had 10,843 cases and 9,261 recoveries to date.

One person from the Central Health Zone has died as a result of the virus, which is the second death for that region.

Alberta has 1386 active cases, 196 deaths, and 9261 resolved cases of COVID-19.

The largest spike in the zone was in Starland County where the number of active cases shot up from nine on Thursday to 63 on Friday.

The city still has 62 recorded total cases, with one moving from active to recovered.

Fort McMurray has five active cases and 56 recoveries, while eight active cases and 44 recovered cases reside outside the urban service area.

Since the pandemic began, the province has seen 10,843 cases.
