It took searchers several days to find her body, but the medical examiner determined that she drowned within minutes, according to the death certificate.

Almost three weeks after her tragic accidental drowning and only seven days since being laid to rest, the Glee alum's episode of Sugar Rush: Extra Sweet airs on Netflix today where she showcases her talents as guest judge.

CNN reports that she was laid to rest at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park on 24 July.

The death certificate also noted that her death was not contributed to any other significant factors.

Rivera had rented a pontoon boat for a three-hour excursion with her only child. "An adult life jacket, believed to be the one provided to Rivera, was still on the boat", People notes.

After five days, her body was found by authorities with the Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub shedding light on what happened in Rivera's final moments. She had no underlying ailments, and no drugs or alcohol were found in her system.

Rivera, who had experience boating on that lake, played cheerleader Santana Lopez on musical drama Glee for six seasons, from 2009 to 2015.

The star's grieving ex-husband Ryan Dorsey, who is father to Josey, said in a moving statement that they had been swimming together just a day before she went missing on July 8.
