Ciro Immobile moved to within one goal of equalling the Serie A single season scoring record on Wednesday as Lazio beat relegated Brescia 2-0 to stay in the race for second place.

Now, Ciro Immobile is on the top of the list with 35 goals in 36 matches, whereas Lewandowski is on the second position with 34 goals in 31 matches. In their final match of the Serie A season the Old Lady will play AS Roma. With the five-time Ballon d'Or victor failing to fond the back if the net in his latest outing against Cagliari, he lost further ground against the Lazio Striker who is now four goals clear of the 35-year-old.

Immobile skimmed the post before finally getting on the scoresheet from a tight angle from Correa's pass in the 82nd minute.

Ciro Immobile also boosted his chances of clinching the top scorer award as he netted his 35th goal of the season, moving four clear of Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

Zlatan Ibrahimović scored twice to help AC Milan win 4-1 at Sampdoria.

All three teams are targeting second place behind Juventus, who sealed a ninth consecutive Serie A title at the weekend. Now it was lion's turn to complete his brace as Ibrahimovic scored his 2nd goal in the 58th minute of the match. Hakan Calhanoglu scored the second goal for Milan in the 52nd minute.

Ibrahimovic has scored nine league goals since rejoining Milan in January.

The veteran brings his club tally to 51 goals for the club, combined with his previous stint between 2010 and 2012.

Lecce was given a glimmer of hope of avoiding relegation as it won 2-1 at Udinese while Genoa was routed 5-0 at Sassuolo.

Genoa hosts Hellas Verona on the final day while Lecce welcomes Parma.
