Gomez winner pulls Atalanta second in Serie A

Elsewhere, Atalanta continued their unbeaten run with a comeback 2-1 victory over Parma. Inter visit Atalanta in their last match on Saturday.

With the victory, Inter lead third-placed Atlanta with a gap of one point and fourth-placed Lazio by four points. They host already-relegated Brescia today before ending their season at Napoli.

The side from Naples nearly hit back just before the 20-minute mark when Lorenzo Insigne deflected Piotr Zielinski's rasping shot from the area narrowly past the far corner.

Dejan Kulusevski was sold by Atalanta to Juventus in January, having only really been given playing time on loan at Parma. The Sweden global impressed so much that Juventus signed him in January but loaned him back to Parma for the rest of the season.

The visiting side was much improved in the second half and Ruslan Malinovskyi levelled in the 70th minute when he fired a free kick straight through the middle of the Parma wall.

Gomez scored what was to prove the victor six minutes from time, nutmegging Jasmin Kurtić and driving into the bottom left corner.

Inter - who are also still in the Europa League - had taken a deserved lead in the 11th minute thanks to D'Ambrosio after they started the game on the front foot. Marcelo Brozović's cross went over the head of Romelu Lukaku but was put back into the centre by Cristiano Biraghi for Danilo D'Ambrosio to slot home.

Inter made the game safe shortly before the final 15 minutes when Martinez received a pass outside the area and opened up space to curl into the far corner off a right-footed shot.
