Track-Only Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 Officially Revealed With 830 HP

This is where we turn greener than the SCV12 with envy because customers of the SCV12 will become part of an exclusive club that will give them access to special programs to drive their hypercar on the most prestigious circuits in the world.

The aero elements, which were borrowed (with modifications, of course) from Lamborghini's racing cars, produce more than 2,600 pounds of downforce at 155 miles per hour - more than you get from the aero on a GT3 race auto. The standard AWD Aventador's front driveshafts have been binned, with a new sequential six-speed gearbox ingeniously doubling as a structural chassis element to which the rear suspension mounts to. The Essenza SCV12 features a power to weight ratio of 1.66bhp per kg, courtesy of the new-generation carbon fiber monocoque chassis without an internal roll cage.

With the added hybridised power bump (up nearly 70kW from the 'normal' Aventador SVJ), and subsequent added weight of batteries; the SCV12 boasts a new-generation carbon fibre monocoque which was developed to comply with FIA prototype safety rules, without the need for an internal rollcage.

The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 may sport a mean exterior, but it houses an even meaner V12 engine - the most powerful naturally aspirated V12 engine developed by Lamborghini to date.

Lamborghini just unveiled the Essenza SCV12, a track-only limited edition hypercar, available in just 40 units. Complementing this is a set of slick Pirelli tyres wrapped round 19-inch front and 20-inch rear magnesium rims. The bonnet bears a double air-intake with a central rib which separates the hot airflow coming from the radiator and sends the cold air to the airscoop located on the roof. The front features a splitter and two lateral elements; on the sides, the flows for engine and gearbox cooling have been optimized through the use of vertical fins situated on the side sills. At the rear, a large adjustable double-profile wing completes the aerodynamic package.

Lamborghini says the structure of the bodywork is formed by only three elements to enable quick replacement when necessary during pit stops.

The design of the multifunction steering wheel with display was inspired by F1 single-seater steering wheels while the specific FIA homologated OMP seat with carbon shell embraces the driver to ensure comfort, safety and stability.

Giorgio Sanna, Head of Lamborghini Motorsport, said: "With Essenza SCV12 we wanted to elevate not only performance and driving pleasure but also the experience off the track".

Needless to say, only the most privileged will be able to buy into this experience, which includes a storage service in a new hangar built in Sant'Agata Bolognese for the Essenza SCV12 club.

Owners will be tutored by the likes of five-time Le Mans 24 Hour victor Emanuele Pirro and Lamborghini factory driver Marco Mapelli at the "arrive and drive" events, to be held at FIA Grade 1 circuits. Each vehicle will have a personalized garage and dedicated resources, including webcams to allow customers to monitor their cars 24 hours a day using an app.
