"Over the past year, we have been working with partners in the Indian music industry to build the foundation of a music video industry to build the foundation of a music video experience for our consumers", said Manish Chopra, director and head of partnerships at Facebook India.

The roster of USA partners included Sony Music Group, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and BMG.

"Artist/Fan connection on Facebook is deeper and more authentic because of tools like Stories, Live, and custom AR effects".

"With official music videos on Facebook, we're creating new social experiences that are about more than just watching the video", music business development vice president Tamara Hrivnak and entertainment vice president Vijaye Raji said in an online post. From this weekend, Facebook users in the United States will be able to explore, watch and share music videos across various music genres.

Facebook, Sony, Universal Music and Warner Music Group did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for a comment. You'll also find timely playlists like "Popular This Week" and "New This Week". "There's something in our music video catalog for everyone, and we're excited for people to discover and rediscover their favorites". It also includes music videos from global artists like Elton John, Jonas Brothers, Josh Groban, Keith Urban and more.
