Epic Games Store gets achievement feature

Users have been expressing their disapproval due to the lack of forums, mod support, and most important of all, a simple shopping cart. The platform is only beginning to test this feature, which right now is limited to a single title, Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries.

Well, today that finally comes to an end, as the company has announced that some games on the Epic Games Store now feature achievements.

MercTech by MagnumForceGB is a detailed overhaul of a lot of core mechanics associated to 'Mechs and the MechLab, introducing an array of new weapons, gear, and features encouraged by regular BattleTech programs and principles. Hopefully, in time it will be possible for all games on Epic Game Store to have mod support.

Besides its exclusives, something PC gamers have consistently criticized the Epic Games Store over is its less robust feature set than Steam.

The MW5 Mod Compatibility Pack by Sketch is an remarkable work to enhance compatibility between disparate Mods, enabling creators to focus their perform and coordinate with other creators to unlock even bigger prospective in their Mods.

Nothing more was said beyond that but the tweet does include a quick video showcasing what an achievement pop looks like in an Epic Games Store-launched game. "Excluding source code and code modification, it is otherwise a fully featured version of the MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries project used for development". At the top will be a drop-down menu showing the mods available. Or you can browse all mods available here. As for the mod editor, it is now included with the game as a separate title in your library.
