The BSC Young Boys striker turned out against Steven Gerrard's Rangers twice in the Europa League group stages.

With L'Equipe reporting that a fee has been agreed between Rangers and Amiens, it does seem that a transfer is about to happen.

Morelos is renowned for having somewhat of a short fuse and his disciplinary record is certainly a concern for any potential suitor but there is no denying that he is a clinical finisher and could be a real hit in the Premier League.

"This will work itself out if there is an offer that's big enough that the board want to accept", Gerrard said.

"Jermain Defoe won't make tomorrow's game - he is still recovering from a hamstring injury but he is progressing well although the weekend comes too soon", the Gers boss told the club's official website.

Rangers have been linked with several superb players turning out for modest clubs over the past few months but paying under £4million for a striker in his prime with a goal a game in his league this season would be a masterstroke from the scouting department.

The Colombian worldwide has scored 77 goals in 137 appearances for the Scottish side but has never hidden his desire to play in one of Europe's top leagues which could see him depart Ibrox.

"It is in my hands and it is in my control", he said.

"It will be a collective decision when we sit down to analyse any bids, but what I can assure you is that the board are not pushing anyone out the door or putting me under pressure to sell".

Rangers are aiming to stop bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from winning the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th season in a row in 2020-21.
