Samsung Galaxy M01s launched in India: Check price, specifications

Samsung India is gearing up to launch its next mid-range smartphone Galaxy M31s which is the successor to Galaxy M31 later this month for almost Rs 20,000. Called Galaxy M01s, the smartphone is priced at ₹9,999. A gyro sensor is mounted on the camera which allows the lens to move in the direction opposite to the movement of the device.

Under the hood, there is a MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor, paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. The 32GB onboard storage can be expanded via a microSD card (up to 512GB). On the front, it has an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The success of Galaxy M smartphones in India has helped Samsung increase its market share in the online segment, according to analysts.

Samsung's new phone has a dedicated fingerprint slot on the back.

The dual-SIM Samsung Galaxy M01s runs Android 9 Pie with One UI Core on top. It also has the Samsung Health app pre-installed that enables users to monitor health. Its colour options include Light Blue and Gray, and both the models are said to be available to purchase via Samsung's offline retail stores,, and other e-retailers.

Based on the price and specifications, Samsung's new budget smartphone will compete with the likes of Realme Narzo 10A and Xiaomi's Redmi 8. It has a 5,000mAh battery with USB Type-C support and 18W charging. It comes with a 6.22-inch HD+ display.
