QC Rapper Lil Marlo Shot Dead in Atlanta

Lil Marlo, a popular rapper who has worked with other well known names in the business including Lil Baby, was shot to death over the weekend.

The musician was found dead after the police responded to a call about a auto accident on Interstate 285 in downtown Atlanta at 2:06 am on Sunday. As a result of the shooting, Marlo was pronounced dead at the scene. The Atlanta Police Department reportedly believes the victim was intentionally shot and homicide investigators are looking into the case.

TMZ reported that Lil Marlo (real name Rudolph Johnson) was gunned down in downtown Atlanta. When police arrived, they found a 30-year-old man had been shot inside the vehicle.

The details surrounding the shooting incident are still sketchy, but law enforcement sources say they received a call that there was an accident on the I-285 highway.

A passerby also recorded footage of the aftermath of the shooting incident showing crime scene investigators combing the area for clues into the killing. He was signed to Quality control in late 2017 and released his first mixtape called The Wire. "We just did a song a 4 this morning smh rip brother @lilmarlo_1", he wrote on Instagram next to a photo of them together.

Taking to Twitter, Fellow Atlanta rapper Clay James said, "Waking up seeing Lil Marlo passed away made me appreciate waking up even more". He is survived by his young daughter and son.

On Father's Day, the rapper had shared a string of videos and pictures to celebrate his children.
