Speaking on Friday at her show, Jada told her husband, Will, that she became friends with Alsina with the intention of helping him overcome health challenges but got "entangled" with the rapper in a relationship along the line.

However, the actress has also revealed that their marriage was going through a rough patch back then and that they had nearly broken up.

"I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her", August told Angela Yee in a sit-down interview, which was uploaded to YouTube on June 30.

"The outpouring for him from our family was initially about his health", she said. 'We found all those different resources to help pull him through and from there you and I were going through a very hard time'. "I was NEVER ur man. Face with raised eyebrow You could possibly never shortie".

The two reveal that it was during their private separation, that Jada entered a consensual relationship with August Alsina.

The couple said at the time they broke up and were going to separate for a period of time. This intimate interaction between the couple and the revelation comes after Alsina's claims that Will Smith gave him a "blessing" for his relationship with the latter's wife.

"I thought it was important that we come to the table to clear the air", Jada started off the episode. I could actually see how he would perceive it as permission because we were separated amicably, and I think he also wanted to make it clear that he's also not a home-wrecker. Jada Pinkett countered that she was broken and was in pain. "And I know there's a lot of stuff going on in the world right now".

"You kicked me to the curb", Jada replied. I think that has a lot to do with my co-dependency which is another thing I had to learn to break in the cycle: that need to fix and being drawn to people that need help.

In the 25 years they've been married, Pinkett Smith in particular has cultivated a brand borne of her willingness to talk about anything and everything in public - except, for the most part, the particulars of her marriage, a constant source of speculation for curious onlookers.

"We didn't say anything specifically because the headlines, any headlines that says "Jada said or Will said or the Smiths said" was not true", Will said.We specifically never said anything. "I feel like it's a situation I consider private".

Pinkett Smith, who starred in two "Matrix" films, questioned why Alsina would bring the episode up again, saying he had broken off communication with her. Keke basically said the same thing five years ago.

"We ride together, we die together".
