Running back Raheem Mostert requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers after the two sides couldn't agree to new contract terms, his agent announced Wednesday on Twitter.

Raheem Mostert officially wants OUT of SF after helping lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl. the RB's agent says contract talks with the team have failed - and now, he's demanding a trade. According to Tessler, those talks have not produced satisfactory results.

Mostert tallied 952 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns during a breakout regular season previous year.

Mostert, 28, has been one of the best success stories in the National Football League going from undrafted free agent, to special teams nomad, to secret weapon in one of the NFL's best offenses last season. He upped his performance in the postseason, totaling 344 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns over three playoff games as the 49ers fell short against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. He's scheduled to earn $3.15 million this season and $3.5 million in 2021.

The 28-year-old - who rushed for a staggering 220 yards and 4 TDs in the NFC Championship Game win over the Packers - has been angling for a raise since the season's end. Time will tell if another team will look to attain Mostert's services and fulfill his needs, but recent history has shown that it's been easier said than done when it comes to execution of a running back's demands.
