Any Samsung flagship release garners a lot of attention and rightly so.

On August 5, Samsung will kick off Galaxy Unpacked 2020 in San Francisco where it's expected to show the next iteration of its current flagship lineups.

When Samsung announced that Galaxy Z Flip, it was clear that this was the start of something new - introducing a new family name in Galaxy Z, something that we've been suggesting for some time. The announced devices are rumored to go on sale August 20. These dates and timeframes fit with previous Samsung releases so we have no reason to doubt them.

According to an exclusive report by SamMobile, the forthcoming Samsung foldable smartphone will be marketed as Galaxy Z Fold 2.

Another hint at Samsung's possible naming change policy is the Galaxy Fold's USA landing page which displays the Galaxy Z moniker in front of Galaxy Fold in the URL. Galaxy Z Fold 2 it is. We're expecting the Note20 duo, Galaxy Z Flip 5G and the successor to the Galaxy Fold.
