Production across showbiz is still largely halted, so it may be a while before it's safe for production on Dead to Me to pick up again for the third and final season.

In addition to the renewal, it was also revealed that Netflix has formed a multi-year partnership with Dead to Me creator Liz Feldman for the development of original series and other projects.

The first two seasons of Dead to Me were released early May in both 2019 and 2020, but with the delays this time around it wouldn't be a surprise if the third season ended updropping on Netflix slightly later than usual - even if the streaming service did say it was "coming soon". "And it's been an incredible gift".

Written by Liz Feldman (2 Broke Girls, The Great Indoors), the series follows Jen (Applegate), a widow Hell bent on solving her husband's hit-and-run murder, and her unlikely friend Judy (Cardellini) an optimistic woman who likewise suffered a tremendous loss. Telling a story sprung from grief and loss has stretched me as an artist and healed me as a human.

Dead To Me is alive for another season and we couldn't be happier about it.

"I'll be forever indebted to my partners in crime, my friends for life, Christina and Linda". Christie Smith also executive produces.

"Dead to Me" has been well received by critics for both of its seasons thus far, with Applegate receiving both an Emmy and Golden Globe nomination for her work on Season 1. Cardellini serves as co-executive producer.

The "Dead to Me" season three will be the final entry in the murderous TV series.
