The 42-year-old has already signed Ziyech and Werner from Ajax Amsterdam and RB Leipzig, respectively, and has now set his sights on Leverkusen wonderkid Havertz, who has previously been linked with a move to the likes of Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Chelsea will be desperate to finish in the top four this season and earn Champions League football for next year.

The English tactician is understood to have trained his eyes on Havertz who is reportedly valued at £90million by Leverkusen.

And in a bid to raise the massive funds needed for the transfer of the German global, up to six Blues players have been earmarked for sale.

According to The Daily Express, left back Marcos Alonso is amongst the players that could leave Chelsea along with Michy Batshuayi, Danny Drinkwater, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Kenedy and Emerson Palmieri.

The West London club is keen to strengthen even more and have positioned themselves in the race for Havertz.

Batshuayi is now out-of-favour at Stamford Bridge, while Drinkwater and Bakayoko who are now on loan have been deemed surplus to requirements.

Havertz, a Germany global, has been hugely impressive for Leverkusen this season - he has 17 assists and nine goals in 43 games.
