The partnership, according to Gap, will use the "creativity, fashion leadership, global recognition and energy" he has created with Yeezy and fuel it with its "51 years of expertise, 88% brand awareness, global reach and best-in-class supply chain". He tweeted a few clues-Gap's signature blue logo rebranded with "YZY" and an editorial photo of a model with block colors and trendy props-before confirming in all caps, "YEEZY AND GAP FORM PARTNERSHIP #WESTDAYEVER".

For the time being, however, these sneakers can be purchased only by pre-order.

Kanye West has been making waves since he joined the fashion industry. And again unexpectedly, he had jumped into the lake during this concert.

According to reports from The New York Times, the Gap plans to introduce Yeezy Gap in stores and online in the first half of 2021. Gap chose to partner with Kanye and his clothing empire, Yeezy, to create a line of affordable, "modern, elevated basics for men, women, and kids", the company stated. In the wake of this indefinite postponement, Gap offered Telfar 25% of the design fee as an advance for work that had already been completed on the collab.

Kanye will make royalties and possible equity from the deal, which will also have an option to be renewed for an additional five years down the line.

He and London-based, Lagos-born designer Mowalola Ogunlesi also announced she would be the design director of Yeezy Gap.

According to Gap, West will maintain sole ownership of the YEEZY brand, which was recently valued at $2.9 billion United States dollars in April 2020.

West has a history with Gap. Last quarter, net sales fell 50 per cent as it struggled to cope with prolonged store closures due to the pandemic.
